Spanish Soprano, Ruth Rosique, will join the Fine Arts Quartet for the September 21st concert. Click her for more information about Rosique.
The Fine Arts Quartet will open the session with a rare performance of Joseph Haydn’s masterpiece – The Seven Last Words of Christ, Op 51.
The work has been arranged by Jose Peris Lacasa for quartet with soprano (instead of the usual narrator.) You can learn about the music here.
The ensemble version was commissioned to be a part of a Good Friday service in Cadiz, Spain. Jordi Savall and the Les Concert des Nations recreated the original atmospherics of the work at the site of the original performance (without the homilies that separated musical segments). Join us at the Zelazo Center at 3 PM – September 21st
