A rarely performed version of Joseph Haydn’s masterpiece, The Seven Last Words of Christ, Op.51, was arranged for quartet, with soprano in place of the usual narrator, by the renowned Spanish composer Jose Peris Lacasa. The FAQ has invited the marvelous Spanish soprano Ruth Rosique, with whom the Quartet recently performed in France, to be guest artist in this great work.
November 9 (Sunday), 3 pm, at UWM’s Zelazo Center
(Pre-talk at 2 PM)
Enjoy this rare chance to hear an accordion quintet. The program will consist of Hayden’s masterful Quartet Op. 77-1; Philip Glass’ Quartet No.2 “Company”; and Efrim Podgaits’ “Ex Animo” (Quintet for String Quartet and Bayan), Op.184, which was commissioned by the FAQ in 2002.
